Jan 2012 -Winter view of the church tower through a 2nd floor skylight window. Great view while staying inside in the warm.
Dec 2011 - Winter pruning of weeping Cherry Tree. Hope we haven't been too drastic?

Dec 2011 - Maintenance of stone walling by local specialist dry stone waller. Good local marketing on the wheelbarrow!
Nov 2011 - Wow ! We found a small Georgian hearth and grate. Autumns arrival prompted me to see what was behind a small boarded up fireplace in the 2nd floor bedroom. Looks great re-painted - see before and after photos - a vast improvement to the painted boarding.

June 2011 - Baby pigeon growing fast snuggled at eye-level in a very thorny wild rose bush
May 2011 - Colerne Parish Council have recently spent £100,000 updating and adding to facilities at the Colerne Recreation Ground. There are wonderful new climbs and slides for kids, a tennis court - so holiday makers don't forget to bring your racquets and these state-of-the art outdoor work out machines. Colerne may seem to be a sleepy rural village (and that's what we like about it), but it is also very forward thinking. To get there walk from Church Cottage through the High Street to the end of the village and you will see a pathway - or you could jog!

May 2011 - White Wisteria in full bloom

May 2011 - Start of a wasps nest in the shed - luckily only 2 or 3 wasps at home so far so easily removed.

March 2011 - The loveable little "Snippy" enjoying his ancient grazing rights on the "common land" at Watergates. The Colerne May Fair is looming when toddlers adore riding in his mini-cart. He also turns out for christenings where the cart is lovingly decorated with flowers, and other requested appearances. A true star of Colerne.

February 2011 - Crocuses - a flash of spring colour!

February 2011 - the snow drops are peeping through the lawn

November - New log-store now in place. Wonderfully dry logs for the wood burning stove - mmmmm..............cosy!
October - Outside Church Cottage garden gate. Winter weather could strike at any time so the gardener has replaced the fading summer flowers with mini conifers.
October - Church Cottages wonderful gardener has moved the coal - all now present and correct!
October
Winter coal delivery. 300kg put in the wrong place.
Coal space eerily empty so gardener will need to move it. Oh dear!
October - original 18th century Bath stone fireplace with wood burning stove mmm!
September - Autumn berries in abundance in the Church Cottage garden
September - The eerie looking passion flower ignores the shortening days with many fruit still to ripen
September - The last blooms on the beautiful pink hydrangeas
September - The passion flower is smothered with fruit this year
August - Paul found a pigeons nest in the wisteria -aaaahhh!!!

July - The wonderful weather with very little rain has left the lawn at Church Cottage parched - it is turning into a straw carpet!

May - A beautiful May in the garden at Church Cottage with Tulips, Iris, Alliums and the fabulous mauve wisteria.

April 2010
Tulips and Bluebells - so much colour in the spring garden

April 2010
It's all happening in the garden at Church Cottage - the delicate palish pink petals of the miniature Cherry Blossom have arrived.
April 2010
Ceremonial unveiling of the new garden bench. We just need the wisteria to grow now and it will look as pretty a picture. I will ask her to twitter pictures when it is in full bloom - its a beautiful mauve. Usually May although everything in the garden is a little late this year - maybe early June.

March 2010
Daffodils - spring is here.
March 2010
Crocus in the lawn at Church Cottage - spring is on its way !

March 2010
My owner must think she’s a teenager. Last night she started a Twitter course at Bath Uni. According to her, she thinks it is the first of its kind in the world. Now she has been telling me that even an old cottage like me can be on Twitter. Sometimes I think she lives in a daydream.
March 2010
Lovely sunny day today - spring is in the air. I can still see the last of the snow drops and the tulip and daffodils are pushing their way towards the sun.
January 2010
After the heavy snow that covered all around here in Wiltshire the guests we had visiting in the middle of January left us some fantastic snowmen. The thaw has set in by the time my owner Sue took the photo. (I find shes never around when you need her !). There was a snowman with a huge hole through his stomach - makes me feel queasy just thinking about it, behind there is a cannon and you can just see in the foreground a cannonball. And I love the snow dog looking on. The best snowmen this cottage has ever seen. Sad to say you Brits that these guests were from Brisbane Australia.
